Service Description
Shopigent Payments is a Shopify app that enables merchants to offer flexible payment plans — deposits, pre-orders, and deferred/split payments — to their customers. The app processes payments through Stripe according to the merchant's configured plans and rules.
Merchant Responsibilities
By installing Shopigent Payments, the merchant agrees to:
- Accuracy: Ensure all payment plan terms are accurately configured and comply with applicable consumer protection laws.
- Disclosure: Clearly communicate payment terms to customers before checkout.
- Authorization: Only configure payment plans for products and orders they have the legal right to sell.
- Compliance: Comply with all applicable laws regarding deposits, pre-orders, deferred payments, and automatic billing.
- Refunds: Process refunds in accordance with their store's refund policy and applicable law.
Payment Processing
- Deposits are captured via Stripe Checkout Session (manual capture). Merchants control capture timing.
- Balance charges are triggered by merchant action (manual) or via the autocharge cron.
- Failed payments trigger dunning recovery (app notification escalation).
Billing
Shopigent Payments charges a monthly subscription. Billing is managed through Shopify's App Subscription API. Subscriptions can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled at any time.
Limitations
- The AI engine provides advisory suggestions only. Merchants retain full control over all payment decisions.
- Shopigent Payments does not provide credit, lending, or BNPL financing. It facilitates merchant-defined payment schedules.
Liability
Shopigent Payments is provided "as is" without warranty. The merchant assumes all risks associated with configuring and offering payment plans to customers.
